13 Years of Free Ice Cream: Celebrating the Community I Love

There are some traditions that become bigger than you ever imagined.

Free Ice Cream Day is one of those traditions for me.

This year, we’re celebrating the 13th Annual Free Ice Cream Day, and I honestly can’t believe we’ve been doing this for 13 years.

What started as a simple idea to give back to the neighbourhood has become one of my favourite days of the year. Every Labour Day, we load up the ice cream, head out into the community and spend the afternoon visiting with friends, clients, families and neighbours throughout Clanton Park, Bathurst Manor and North York.

And while the ice cream is always a hit, it’s the people and the community that keep me coming back year after year.

More Than Just Where I Work, It's Where I Live

For me, this community isn't simply a place where I sell real estate.

It's home.

I live here. My family is here. My business is here. And for many years, I've had the opportunity to watch this community grow and change firsthand.

I've walked these streets, watched families grow, seen neighbours become friends and helped countless people find their own homes here.

That makes selling real estate in this area very different for me.

When I talk about a neighbourhood, I'm not just talking about statistics, house prices or market trends. I'm talking about the places I know, the streets I've walked and the people I've gotten to know over the years.

I know what makes these neighbourhoods special because I live here too.

13 Years of Ice Cream and Community

Over the past 13 years, Free Ice Cream Day has given me another reason to get out and connect with the people who make this community so special.

I've watched kids who came for ice cream years ago come back with their own families. I've bumped into past clients, old friends and neighbours. I've met people who have lived here for decades and others who have just moved into the area.

There have been countless conversations, laughs, photos, sticky fingers and, of course, a lot of ice cream.

But the best part has always been the opportunity to spend time with people outside of a real estate transaction.

Because ultimately, community is about people, not properties.

What Makes This Community Special

After 15 years in real estate and hundreds of homes sold, I've learned that people don't just buy a house. They're choosing a community.

They're choosing where their kids will grow up.

Where they'll walk their dog.

Where they'll meet their neighbours.

Where they'll make memories.

Where they'll hopefully feel at home.

That's something I don't take for granted.

I'm incredibly fortunate to live and work in a community where I get to experience those things every day.

And that's why Free Ice Cream Day means so much to me. It's my small way of saying thank you to the community that has supported me, my family and my business for so many years.

Thank You for 13 Amazing Years

To everyone who has come out over the past 12 years, thank you.

Thank you for bringing your families.

Thank you for stopping to say hello.

Thank you for sharing the event with your friends.

Thank you for supporting my business.

And most importantly, thank you for making me feel like part of such an incredible community.

13 years. Thousands of ice creams. Hundreds of conversations. Countless memories. One community I’m incredibly proud to call home.

I can't wait to see you again this Labour Day.
